With the holiday coming up and everyone ready to eat, I wanted to take a minute to reflect on what I am thankful for.
I’m sure that some reading this remember Joe Binder, the former owner and president of Schweizer Emblem, as a man unlike any other. A man who was so generous and kind, so eager to teach and be taught, so willing to help in any way that he could. I remember him as that and as a much more. He was my rock. As a grandfather, he taught me to love and let the little things roll off, he introduced me to new and different things and he never wanted the party to end. With all of this being said, I miss him every single day, many of us do, but what I have learned through his passing is how thankful I am that I was able to have someone such as Joe in my life.
My family (including Joe) are people that have helped shape me into who I am. From my wonderful mother and brothers to my fantastic husband, my support system is endless and always willing.
My health is another thing that I am thankful for. I am a person who dedicates time at the gym a couple of days a week and participates in outside activities. I indulge when I want to, but know that too much isn’t healthy. I have dedicated time and effort to taking care of myself understanding how important it is to live a long and healthy life.
Lastly, my friends. I am thankful for each and every person that I can call a friend. They’ve picked me up when I was down, comforted me in times of grief and made me laugh through it all. From elementary school through college, I am grateful for every single one of them!
Here at Schweizer Emblem, we give thanks for our family, our mentors and you, our customers. We couldn’t continue to run this business for the last 92 years, or the next without you.
