Check out our article in the Freeman…very exciting!
We’ve had some very good changes here at Schweizer and my apologies for letting this blog go unposted for as long as it has. We have been so busy with new clients, a move and wonderful office space that I need to play some catch-up!
Our business has continued to evolve over time and as of August 1st, we now occupy a space in Waukesha, Wisconsin. The commute for both myself and Nancy has dropped significantly. From an hour and a half each way to about 15 minutes has been life changing. We share a 3000 sq foot space with our IT partners, In-House Computer Services. Their help with anything and everything IT related has been wonderful. Seriously, if anyone ever needs any sort of computer support/help/questions, ask these guys. They’re so knowledgeable and a fantastic team!
With the summer coming to an end and the hustle and bustle slowing down, I invite you to look at any patch/coaster/pin needs that you might have and let us know. We will gladly get a quote to you within 24 hours and you can place your order same day. We look forward to hearing from you and if you’re in the area, stop on by and take a look at the new space, we’d love to see you!
We’re thrilled to show-off one of the latest embroidered patches we helped our friends at The Planetary Society create. Not only because this is such a beautiful patch but also because of the mission behind it. Space is such an extraordinary and unknown place that when we learned that we were going to help out, we were ecstatic and intrigued!
The patch itself is made up of 9 different colors of thread, all embroidered on a twill background. It has a plastic backing so that it can be sewn onto a garment or displayed somewhere without having to worry about the edges curling due to heat or humidity. With such details in the stars, sun, earth and sail, our employees took great time and effort making sure that everything looked as close to perfection as possible.
Now, onto the most interesting part of this post (we understand that patches don’t excite everyone as much as they do us ;)), LightSail. The LightSail spacecraft is a mini satellite that contains 32 square meters of shiny Mylar. Once the satellite is released in space, the Mylar deploys and uses photons from the sun to solar sail. LightSail has the capability to go to the moon, planets and beyond and will further help with the exploration of the vast unknown.
LightSail is completely citizen funded through a Kickstarter project: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/theplanetarysociety/lightsail-a-revolutionary-solar-sailing-spacecraft and has already launched their prototype in May. Their primary mission will take place in 2016 and fly on the Falcon Heavy.
To learn more about the LightSail project, please visit: http://www.planetary.org/multimedia/video/lightsail-then-and-now.html.
And per usual please let us know at Schweizer if you have any patch, pin, lanyard needs because we are here to help YOU!
*A special thanks to the Planetary Society for your trust in us with this truly unique and exciting project!
With the weather finally warming up and the golf season opening up here in Illinois and Wisconsin, I wanted to showcase our Crestco or Bullion Crests. These crests remind me of a prestigious award that you’d receive, or something that you would see on an elite member of your club. Although they don’t necessarily need to be used for just that, we’ve created many different crests from the Kraft Nabisco Golf Classic to the Civitan International Honor’s District.
These beautiful, handmade crests use only the finest gold and silver threading available. Each one is carefully crafted and simply unique, they are a piece of art. The crests take a 3-D shape so your company or club will truly stand out among the rest.
If you have any questions or would like to see a sample of these beauties, please feel free to contact us through the website. We would be happy to show you just how amazing these Bullion Crests are!
Spring is almost here and we are feeling extra generous because (fingers crossed) the winter weather is finally starting to hang its’ head in shame and slowly disappear. Beginning today and running through April 5th, we are offering 10% OFF of your entire order! All you have to do is mention that you saw this promotion on the website and we will honor that for you.
Please come and take a look at all of the wonderful products that we have to offer to you. Here’s to Spring Fling and a wonderful season!
This week’s post is focusing on a very unique type of emblem. One that is very affordable, one that can be created using either a photo or artwork and best of all, one that is impressive and will have your customers, or really anyone saying, “WOW, how do I get one of those?!”
Enter, the Photo Emblems®. This extremely unique and versatile emblem is created using a sublimation transfer process where photographs or artwork are reproduced photographically with unparalleled detail and color clarity. It’s also a fantastic alternative to screen-printing.
I am most impressed with these emblems because the replication of a photo or artwork is outstanding! It really does look just like its’ original form, but on an emblem. These emblems can be used literally anywhere! Just a few ideas…a family reunion using an old family photo and heat sealing it to t-shirts or hats or an avid fisherman wearing a picture of the first fish he ever hooked or his most prized catch on his hat.
Feel free to contact us with any other questions that you might have regarding the Photo Emblems or any other emblems, we are here to help! Until next time, have a fantastic weekend and stay warm!

Happy Holidays from Schweizer Emblem Company! As we reflect back on 2014 and all that has occurred, we want to take a moment to thank all of our current customers. Without you, we wouldn’t be continuing this amazing business!
As some of you know, the previous owner passed away late last December. He was our fearless leader, wonderful boss and best friend! However, I know that he has been watching down on us over this past year and would be so pleased with everything.
We have both added and revamped a couple of great marketing products to our product list. We updated the website and have been improving on some of our marketing and social media outlets. We hope to continue with this growth and momentum into 2015 and are only looking forward.
Please continue to remember Schweizer Emblem with any of your needs whether it be embroidered emblems or personalized luggage tags. We are happy to help out in any and every way possible. Cheers to a wonderful 2014 and an even better 2015!
Nancy, Julie and Emily
With the holiday coming up and everyone ready to eat, I wanted to take a minute to reflect on what I am thankful for.
I’m sure that some reading this remember Joe Binder, the former owner and president of Schweizer Emblem, as a man unlike any other. A man who was so generous and kind, so eager to teach and be taught, so willing to help in any way that he could. I remember him as that and as a much more. He was my rock. As a grandfather, he taught me to love and let the little things roll off, he introduced me to new and different things and he never wanted the party to end. With all of this being said, I miss him every single day, many of us do, but what I have learned through his passing is how thankful I am that I was able to have someone such as Joe in my life.
My family (including Joe) are people that have helped shape me into who I am. From my wonderful mother and brothers to my fantastic husband, my support system is endless and always willing.
My health is another thing that I am thankful for. I am a person who dedicates time at the gym a couple of days a week and participates in outside activities. I indulge when I want to, but know that too much isn’t healthy. I have dedicated time and effort to taking care of myself understanding how important it is to live a long and healthy life.
Lastly, my friends. I am thankful for each and every person that I can call a friend. They’ve picked me up when I was down, comforted me in times of grief and made me laugh through it all. From elementary school through college, I am grateful for every single one of them!
Here at Schweizer Emblem, we give thanks for our family, our mentors and you, our customers. We couldn’t continue to run this business for the last 92 years, or the next without you. So my last HUGE thanks is to YOU! As a special thank you to our customers, new or old, we are running a Thanksgiving special – FREE shipping if you order by December 1st. Please mention that you saw this blog post and we will take care of shipping for you.
I know that I have talked a lot about what I am thankful for, but now it’s time to hear from you. Please let us know what you are thankful for this year, last year or always!
As Midwesterners, we have learned to adapt quickly to our ever-changing seasons but the abrupt cold weather and early sunsets still get me every single year. Where the heck did fall go, I found myself saying this past weekend as I bundled layer over layer just to take the dog outside.
As my husband and I were walking the pup around the neighborhood at dusk, I decided to attach a Micro-Lite emblem to my jacket. I’d never worn one of these types of patches before and wanted to give it a whirl. I felt very visible to passing cars and joggers, alike. Micro-Lites are custom made to order and created using millions of tiny reflective lenses that are embedded into a polyester cloth backing. They can be seen both day and night and I felt protected, even walking on the sidewalk!
Check out “Micro-Lite” under our “Products” page to see if these patches would be a good fit for you, your team or unit or even your dog! You’ll be happy you did!
