About Us
Emily grew up around the family business and became its fourth-generation owner in 2023. Her goal is simple: live up to the family name and keep growing. Emily is always looking for new products and new ways to serve customers, and she's never shy about making a connection. She landed the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office after a chance conversation with the sheriff at a Bucks game. Outside the office, you'll find her teaching barre fitness classes, her favorite way to recharge. She lives in Pewaukee with her husband, son and their two Samoyeds, Kaia and Kevin.
Billy joined Schweizer Emblem as COO in 2026, working alongside his wife, Emily. He leads the company's operations and growth strategy, focusing on streamlining processes, strengthening partnerships and building the systems that will carry the business into its next century. His favorite part of the job is knowing that every hour he puts into improving the business directly supports his family and the company's legacy. When he's not at the office, you'll find him on the soccer field.
Kaia's past is no secret around here. In her younger days, no sandwich, snack or unattended lunch was safe, and she carried out her heists with the quiet confidence of a professional. These days she's a reformed dog. She has traded crime for a career in security, patrolling the office, inspecting every delivery and keeping a close watch on the front door.
Kevin is the newest member of the team and is still learning the ropes. Right now his duties include testing the durability of every toy in the building, napping in the middle of the workday and greeting each visitor as if they're his long-lost best friend. He's training under Kaia, who has high hopes for him, though she's had to explain more than once that the samples on the desk are not chew toys. He has a lot of growing to do, but his enthusiasm is unmatched, and we fully expect him to work his way up the ladder, one treat at a time.

Our Story
Our Story
A century of emblems. Four generations of one family.
You see emblems everywhere: on a deputy's sleeve, a hockey fan's jacket, a scout's sash. Most people never stop to wonder where they come from. For more than 100 years, many of them have come from us.
Where it began
In 1922, Rudy Schweizer opened a small embroidery business in downtown Chicago. He brought embroidery looms over from Switzerland at a time when every stitch was done by hand. In 1935 he designed the company logo we still use today, a shield showing the Swiss village he came from.
A family business from the start
Rudy's company became a family legacy. Lilian Switzer kept the books as the company's accountant for many years before taking over the business herself. When Lilian was ready to retire, she passed it to Joe Binder, who had built his career in sales. Joe led the company until 2013, when his daughter, Nancy Madsen, stepped in as owner.
Growing with the times
Embroidery has changed a lot since Rudy's hand-run looms. Today, designs are digitized and stitched with precision equipment. Since the 1980s, we've partnered with trusted production facilities, which lets us offer a wider range of products at competitive prices while we focus on design, quality control and customer service.
A new home in Waukesha
After years of driving from Waukesha County to the company's Illinois office, the family brought Schweizer Emblem closer to home. Today we're based at 227 South Street in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and we serve customers nationwide.
The fourth generation
In 2023, just after the company celebrated its 100th anniversary, Emily Sampson, Joe's granddaughter, became the company's fourth-generation owner, making Schweizer Emblem a woman-owned business. In 2026, her husband Billy joined as Chief Operating Officer. Together, they're carrying the family name into its next hundred years.
